it's funny how we end up in places... « Thread Started on Feb 28, 2008, 12:06am »
we didn't even mean to end up in
The young woman wandered the streets of China Town. She wasn't really sure how, exactly, she'd ended up here, but she had. It was really an interesting, quaint, cute little place. She couldn't remember whether it was China or Korea where they ate dogs (she didn't remember these kinds of details) but she kept a hand on Icy's thick coat just to be safe. "Never know what kind of dog catchers they might have around here," she told the dog teasingly. "Fried or fillet?" she asked the dog with a grin. It was obvious she'd been alone for quite some time...Considering she was talking to a dog and wandering the streets in a really rather random section of town she hadn't really been planning to go to. Some might have thought her crazy...

Raymond had just hopped from the MAX light rail train sort of thing; he never understood why they called it MAX but they did. The name was to simple for a system that complicated. His hair drooped over one eye, causing him to shake his head lightly as he walked on the cool gray pavement. His hands in his hoodie pocket as he walked. He hadn't even heard the destination of the train, because his headphones were blasting loud in his ear. Sending vibrations down his spine. Despite that, he continued walking aimlessly, wasting an hour or so before he would find something more productive to do. He walked among the people, being brushed pass a few times before he felt himself slipping from the pavement and bumping into someone, with more force then he wanted too."Gah! I'm sorry."he said sympathetically, staring at the girl for a moment, giving his best sympathetic smile. He always managed to run into people when he was paying very much attention to his surroundings, especially when he was listening to his music.

"Whoah.." Keeley murmured, holding out her hands and setting them on the boy's shoulders to keep him from totally plowing her over. It wasn't as if she was a big thing, it wouldn't be hard to just walk right over her. It'd happened before and it wasn't a pleasant expirience. She smiled and shrugged. "Quite alright," she said with a nod and a pleasant smile. "I'm Keeley," she said with a nod, stepping back and extending her hand.

Raymond laughed softly to himself to see her grab his shoulders to stop herself from falling. He almost got pushed into her again by some prick that decided to push the two, thinking they were love birds cause Raymond's hands managed to find her waist. He instantly dropped them to his side though, a small blush appearing on his already red cheeks, it was hardly noticeable. He stuffed his head phones into his pocket, not even worrying about straightening them out. He nodded, reaching his hand forward to shake hers."Names Raymond."he said with a sheepish grin, he glanced down upon spotting some fur and laughed."Cute dog."he commented."What's it's name?"he asked, letting his hands drop to his sides as he stared at the dog for a moment before back at Keely with a large grin.

Keeley laughed sheepishly to herself, her own hands instantly dropping to her side, one subconciously falling on the dog's head to stroke it gently, her own face turning a cute shade of pink. "Keeley," she responded with a smile and a nod. "And this is Iceburg..Icy." She smiled and nodded again. "Pleasure to meet you," she said with a genuinely open, friendly smile as she gave his hand a firm shake. "You been in Portland long?" she asked curiously, beginning to walk slowly in whatever direction..She wasn't actually too sure hwich way she was facing, but she figured basically everything leads somewhere, right?

The light blush on Raymond's face stayed, a somewhat sheepish grin etched on his pale lips. He nodded, playing her name over in his head for a moment before he was welcomed by the dogs name."Pleasure meeting you too. It's not every day you get to know the name of the person you practically trampled."he joked, giving her hand a firm shake before he let them drop to his sides. Conscientiously placing them into his hoodie pocket as they started walking into a certain direction, unaware of where they were walking. But he had no place else to go."Six years my whole life, but I just recently moved here from my hometown Chicago a year ago. You?"he asked, curiously brushing the bangs from his face and tucking them behind his ear.

The smile remained on her face as well. "2 days," she responded with a grin and a nod. "I've just been kind of wandering around, checking out the lay of the land." She shrugged. "What do you do?" she asked curiously. Keeley was very much a people person. She lvoed to know about other people, wher ehtey came from, what they did. It wasn't so much that she was nosy as just curious. She liked hearing about differen't people's life styles and why they became what they are. She didn't much like talking about herself, either. She didn't find her own story particularly interesting...What was there to tell?

Raymond laughed softly."Wow, newcomer. You'll love this place once you get around more."he said confidently, nodding as he said it. He brushed a stray strand from his face as he walked."Do you mean for a living?"he asked curiously. Laughing softly as he thought about her question."I work at GameStop during the week and am a live performer at SOLO on the weekends."he said, pausing thoughtfully."But, in my spare time. I basically walk around, like doing now. There's many good places to go. Like the Saturday Market and Pioneer Place."he said shrugging lightly."So, what places have you been too?"he asked curiously, placing his hands into his pockets.

"Oh, don't worry, I'm already quite smitten," she said with a grin, walking along beside him with her hands in her pockets. She nodded in response to his question about for a living, shaking a stray strand of hair out of her eyes. "That's cool," she said with a firm nod. "Umm.." she shrugged. "Oh, I don't know! All over the place...I've been to the Square thing...And Chinatown...Obviously..." she grinned. "And..umm...Oh, I don't know! Just...all over hte place! I don't pay attention to names.." she said with a laugh, shaking her head. she had a nice laugh, nice and bright, but overly pushy and obnoxious...

Raymond continued walking alongside the girl as she spoke, nodding lightly at her replies."Yeah, I'm sort of the same way, it's to tedious to have to remember the names of all the places you've been."he said, with a light nod, brushing his bangs to the side as he looked from her, to the ground. Chuckling softly, to himself."So, have you found a job yet?"he asked, curiously. He didn't like only talking about himself, because he wasn't that interesting of a person. Just depends on the other person's interests.
